Manufacturing Engineer – Westmeath Mullingar, Co. Westmeath | Permanent | Full-Time | Onsite | €50,000–€55,000 DOE We are recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer for an established engineering and manufacturing company in Co. Westmeath. This permanent position offers a salary of €50,000–€55,000, with flexibility for the right candidate. This opportunity would suit a Civil Engineer, Site Engineer, Setting-Out Engineer or Structural Engineer with 2–3 years' experience in civil engineering, construction or reinforced concrete who is interested in developing their career within manufacturing and production. You'll combine hands-on engineering, setting out and technical problem-solving with production planning and team coordination, working on precast concrete products for major construction and infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK. About Your New Job Reporting to the Production Manager, you will take ownership of the daily activities within an allocated production area, ensuring precast concrete products are manufactured safely, accurately and in line with engineering drawings and project specifications. Your responsibilities will include: Carry out setting out, dimensional checks and inspections of reinforced concrete and precast structures, ensuring accuracy of levels, reinforcement, openings and cast-in components. Interpret civil and structural engineering drawings, reinforcement details, bar schedules and technical specifications to support manufacturing activities. Coordinate daily production schedules, labour, materials, moulds and equipment to meet manufacturing targets and project deadlines. Provide technical guidance and daily direction to production employees, supporting a team of up to approximately 30 people. Work closely with Design, Quality, Maintenance and Logistics teams to resolve technical queries, production issues and material shortages. Monitor quality, health and safety, workmanship and productivity, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and reducing rework. What You Need Essential: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification. Minimum 2–3 years' experience in civil engineering, construction, reinforced concrete, precast concrete manufacturing or a related environment. Proven setting-out experience, including dimensional checks, levels and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. Working knowledge and practical experience of AutoCAD, BIM processes and relevant Eurocodes. Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the initiative to take ownership of daily production activities. Additional requirements: Full, clean driving licence and reliable transport to the Raharney manufacturing facility. Unrestricted right to work in Ireland. Nice to have: Previous supervisory or people-management experience within construction, engineering or manufacturing. Experience coordinating production teams, labour, materials or construction activities. Previous experience in precast concrete manufacturing or reinforced concrete production. Interest in pursuing professional accreditation or Chartered Engineer status. What's On Offer Salary of €50,000–€55,000 depending on experience, negotiable for the right candidate.
